My heart is broken in a thousand pieces knowing he had to suffer the last few weeks of his life even though he did everything right. My family and I were some of the most careful people I know and did everything we could to keep him safe. I’m so angry and sad because it’s just not fair. I see people of all ages “living it up” mask-free & unvaccinated and somehow they end up never catching it or being fine...while good, innocent people like my father lose their lives. I don’t wish it on anyone, but why is it that such bad things always happen to good people? I will never understand it. I want to believe in karma, but I know of people who have done horrible things and somehow good things still come their way. My daddy was a good man, an amazing father, the best husband and soulmate to my momma, and so much more. My mom was about to retire and they were looking forward to growing old together, traveling, and enjoying retirement together. I’m just so heartbroken and angry that all of that has been stolen from them. If I hear someone talking about how the virus is “not that bad” or “just like the flu” or complains about wearing a mask or getting vaccinated, I am going to lose my absolute shit. This virus is fucking devastating and will take anyone it wants no matter how much good they put into the world. I’m angry because my daddy did not deserve to die this way - alone, afraid, and gasping for air. My daddy had so much more to live for and was doing so great after everything he and my mom went through over the last several years. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. I will still be posting this month, but I wanted to keep you all in the loop and let you know why I may be just a little more quiet.
