I’d raise my foot high, then quickly down, but not all the way. Then back up again to get a good stomp and then back down again. Quicker this time, but stopping again before my foot hits you. You get close enough you’re blown back by the wind of my foot, but still underneath my step. I can see the terr0r on your face that I would’ve missed had I just stomped you right away. I do it a few more times, just for the fuck of it, enjoying every little wince and whimper you make, each time somehow more scared than the last. The anticipation is killing you, you want me to get it over with. Nothing at this point could put your mind at ease, no scenario you could think of makes this less scary. Even if I pretend to not stomp you after all, you know I’ll still do it. You know I can’t miss my chance to feel that satisfying squish on the ball of my foot. And so I finally put you out of your m!sery. On the 18th fake step it is no longer fake. I lower my foot, this time slowly and deliberately. You realize this is it, this is the one.
