He looked distracted, and the more I watched I could see sweat forming and running down his brow. He wasn't someone that normally would get nervous. Was he this upset about firing me? I adjusted in my chair, looking as professional as I could and bracing for the final blow. "Tom, we've been working from home for close to a year now, and I just wanted to spend this time catching up." Victor said after turning off a screen share featuring a very complicated report. "How have you been? We haven't talked since everyone left." What was this, exactly? I could feel my face turning red, stammering in place. This isn't exactly the firing I was expecting.
