Journal - Entry 321 The engineer I hired to repair the photo box is finished! Ended up being far more gold than I expected to pay, but it was well worth it - everything works exactly as it was when I first found it, if not even a little better in places. Urgran seems confused about the device - I don't think he's seen anything like it before. Despite having all of this knowledge on constellations, smithing, and being a survivalist, anything to do with technology seems totally lost on him. It's a little cute, but I think I would upset him if I told him such. To get him a little more used to it (and to make sure the thing is working...) I took some test shots. Figured the best place to keep them would be here. For an Orc he seemed camera shy? I figured there would be some ego involved and he'd like it. We'll be making our way to the next town by morning, maybe I can get a better chance to show him how things work once we are out of this forest. I'm looking forward to eating something besides rations or moss Urgan found edible. Journal - Entry 322 So... new things to learn. Orc + Camera in a crowded city isn't the best of ideas. He... didn't react well, but I suppose me egging him on didn't help much. The local guard got involved, and we almost got kicked out. Thankfully I was around to explain things (and maybe slipped a few silver pieces...) I need to remind myself later to make sure he does not see these photos. But I think I'll keep them next time I find myself having a bad day. Journal - Entry 325 ... An interesting day. After what happened a few days prior, I decided to leave the camera alone for a while, and this morning turned in the device to have the photos developed for safekeeping. Coming back a few hours later, the girl who worked the front desk wouldn't dare look me in the eye, and told me that the photos were free, just to never come back again. I had to insist on payment and eventually made her cry, making the owner storm in from a back room screaming that "people like me" shouldn't show my face around here any longer. On threats of calling the guards, I left. Urgran seemed to not say anything and was already outside of town. In the hustle to leave, I didn't even look at the photos... ... That night, however, I did. Seems the Orc knows how to use the camera better than I expected! I can't help but look at these photos every time I'm alone. It's sweet but reckless. But that's what I expect from him. I must return the favor for him later somehow, with a surprise of my own. [Photos from 8/16/20 - These photos took FOREVER to edit, but I'm super proud of them! All of the backgrounds were built/rendered by me in 3D software, and the photos themselves were taken against a green screen so I could key myself out. The effect came out far from perfect, but with a little editing, I think they achieved the effect I was looking for! I also now have a file of transparent PNG's of myself, so I'm sure that will end up being useful for something eventually.]
