Its a nice day to time travel back to Kona, Hawaii.
@vauntastic and I had been camping up in frigid high altitudes of Volcanoes National Park for over a week when we decided that what would be really nice is a warm night in Hawaii where, maybe, we could shower, and eat something not cooked over a little propane stove. The first night of camping was brutal, turns out the blankets we'd ganked from the airplane were not nearly warm enough to sleep 4,000 feet up.
The next 5 nights were actually quite nice after we acquired a large comforter, and got to walk to the rim of the volcano, and see the glow of the caldera in the night. But after 6 nights of roughing it, we felt a little worse for the wear, and splurged. There is no getting around it. Even the cheapest hotels in Kona are very expensive, but we made the most of it, and maybe even shot the origins of what would become Flora Studies in 2020.
Are ya'll enjoying these throw backs?
