This week is mental health awareness week and I want you to know, I’m here for you.
Many studies and a lot of research shows that men are more likely to not seek help for mental health related matters, and you’re far more at risk of serious mental health symptoms. The stigma around men being open and talking about what’s on their minds needs to change. I stand with you.
I often get messages from you where you apologise for being sad, or down, or having bad news or a bad day or week. Please know - this space, MY space is a safe space. You don’t ever need to apologise here for the way you feel. Anything in my DM’s that is confidential, stays in my DMs. You don’t need to apologise, pretend to be okay or embrace masculine traits that you feel are unhealthy to you here. Of course if you want to come here and be cheered up, there’s no need to say anything you don’t want to! My only aim is to tell you that I will never think badly of you for telling me you’re not okay. Ever. And that is a promise.
In an earlier time of my life I qualified in therapy and psychology so, I can assure you, I’m used to hearing everything. I want you to be welcome here to be whoever you want to be, and represent yourself freely without any stigma or fear of judgment.
I value you, I respect you and I see you. I stand with you. ♥️
