The story of us: We kept in touch for several years online using different websites. Bigmuscle, Dudesnude, Gay.com were the main ones. We just always ended up connecting. Ace lived in Mississippi and Tyler was in West Hollywood. To say there were differences would be an understatement. And really, the only way somebody from a small town in the South can meet somebody is online, right? There are no gay bars or gay prides or gay anything, really. But there was something that kept us wanting to connect more. Finally, we decided to make something happen and see if there was a spark in person that equaled what we felt online. Or maybe it would just be a fun hookup and we'd never see each other again. Either way, we both wanted to know. So, Ace had a work week that left him in LA during the 4th of July holiday in 2013. We decided to meet on the 3rd for lunch and just hang out for a bit. Lunch was at a little restaurant near his apartment in WeHo. We have never been apart since. Ace says he didn't know immediately, but it took at least 30 minutes. Tyler dropped the "L' word pretty fast that weekend and Ace said it back. There were some grand gestures during the next few months. Big trips on spurs of moments. We rented a U-Haul on October 28 and arrived in Mississippi with all of Tyler's stuff October 31 just in time to take Trick-or-Treaters at the house for Halloween. Life has taken some adjustment, of course. Fitting into another person's life takes effort, but it's been happy work for the both of us. Ace is VP Sales for a large manufacturer and Tyler is a manager in a retail-type environment. Every few weeks we take ourselves to a city so Tyler can breathe better. Then, it's back to the hay field in Mississippi where there's not much to do but fuck.
