I hope this missive finds you in good health and spirits. It is with a heavy heart and much regret that I pen these words, for I find myself in a most unfortunate state of affliction. I humbly beseech your forgiveness for my inability to fulfill my social obligations in recent days.
Alas, a malady has befallen me, one that has left me bedridden and unable to partake in the pleasures of society. My frail constitution has succumbed to the relentless grip of illness.
