The company you work for has spent the last month on a very expensive job in Key Biscayne. The commute to-and-from the island has been a pain, but the work has been extensive and well-paid. The multi-million dollar beach home took damage during the last storm season and was sold at a bargain. Your crew has been re-working the interiors and putting the final preparations and I have been moving my possessions into the house as the work finishes in each of the rooms. You’ve spent the last few weeks patching up drywall and painting the bed and bathrooms. Every day you come in to my house wearing tacky grey sweatpants and a disposable t-shirt, and every day you leave covered in spackle and Benjamin Moore. Our eyes have met a few times but you’ve tried to put distance between us. I’m just another client, after all.
