I remember checking into this room like it was yesterday. I thought Extended Stay's were fancy because they had kitchenettes. Honestly I still kind of feel that way. It used to be we’d spend weeks on the road. Sleeping in the ..
It used to be we’d spend weeks on the road. Sleeping in the front seat of the car or couch surfing with friends. When the time inbetween nights in a bed got to be too long we’d cave and find the cheapest motel we could.
I never slept well those nights. You get used to living out the car, and rooms motel rooms felt heavy. We’d try to sleep but often we’d lay around sleepless. Maybe the light would catch @vauntastic a certain way and we’d do a shoot different from the explorations in nature.
Something unplanned and intimate. The origins of Ask the Dust are somewhere just off the highway in Oklahoma in the glow of a television and old fluorescent lights.

First things first I just wanted to apologize for the delay on our Bee Porn video...Nicole (@vauntastic) got stung during our last hive inspection right on the thigh...turns out she's mildly allergic, so we have been waiting for that to heal up! Great news is its healed, and we are eyeing up Wednesday next week to film. I anticipate it taking a day or 2 to edit, but then ya'll will have some awesome awesome pornography coming your way!
Second thing, we unlocked this set of Nova so fast I hope ya'll love the shots as much as I love them. These are some of my favorites playing around with the mirrors to create visual confusion.

Such a surreal experience to look back on this trip. @vauntastic and I visited New Zealand right after our first trip to Iceland. This was my second real international test to see how our planning and research strategies for creating in places we had never been would work internationally, and our first time guest teaching at a workshop and it was a bit of a wake up call as to the state of the industry.
The workshop we joined up with to our surprise had not been planned, not been researched, and the most important things like "how will we all eat" had not been addressed. It was a disaster that we did our best to make the best of. I learned a lot of what I never wanted my workshops to look like, and I learned that left to our own devices Nicole and I were more than capable of planning a wildly successful solo trip.

Learning to love the body you are in is a long long road we are all on. Similarly allowing myself to be a sexual being is equally difficult. These two things I struggle with near equally. But I feel safe in front of the camera when @vauntastic is shooting and I genuinely love the photos she took of me. I love the softness of these images. I am not a sharp person, nor am I delicate.
This body has gotten me through it all.

When @amywilderness broke out this vintage piece I knew I knew I knew that I had to shoot it. Had we already done 2 other looks...yes, but the first time I work with somebody when it feels like its been a lifetime I have looked forward to shooting them, I always over shoot. "What if I never get to work with them again?" I ponder, throwing another card in the camera.
So worth it though, these images leave me speechless I hope they do the same for you!
