Today is my first day of recording. Let's call it Eight, so it's 1 of 8. I won't be online much these days, but I will read all your comments and respond when and if possible. This is a challenge and concentration is key. New songs will be born every day and they need their time and attention.

Tomorrow I start a challenge I've been looking forward to for a while. At first I called it "Eight" (thanks to my hubby and J Dave for brainstorming with me) because the idea is to create eight new songs from scratch in eight days, writing, performing and recording each of them in 8 hour studio sessions on each of the days. The original idea was to broadcast it live on Youtube and stuff. But as the months went by (the idea was born in September last year) I realized that I needed a little more freedom and privacy to really open my creative doors and flow. And I realized that if I was going to go live, I would feel the need to answer comments and interact with viewers, and that's not good for writing.
At the same time, I had the idea of doing a Kickstarter or something like that so we could offer a vinyl to those who wanted to preorder it (so we could pay the factory, they take 6 months or more to make it). But shipping vinyl from Mexico is complicated at best, so I've scrapped that idea as well, and I'll probably include two to three extra songs I've been developing, so it'll end up being an album of up to 12 songs.
So this has all evolved into a place where I can focus on recording and maybe release a making of video later if there's enough material shot during the 8 days.
I also wondered if it was a good idea to make a big announcement about it. But then I thought: hey, I need to feel proud, happy and excited about this challenge. It's like when I create new music, the first thing I want is for my friends to hear it and share the joy.

It was 2016 and it was my first beefdip in Puerto Vallarta, I had just broken up with my ex and started officially dating my soon to be husband (it wasn't a traumatic breakup at all, it was all very friendly, we had both found two great guys).

It still feels strange to think that the last Beefdip will be my last. I haven't really told the owner yet, but my mind is made up. It's time for new adventures. Every time you let go, you're making room for something better to come.

The countdown to the recording of my new album starts today. In one week I will lock myself up for 8 nights (9 days) with a bold plan: to write and record at least 8 new songs from scratch, one every day. This is how most albums were recorded from 1979 to 1999. You had to go to a recording studio, and they were not cheap, or you had to lock yourself up in a house and set up your studio in a room of the house (for example, Oxigene by Jean Michel Jarre was performed and recorded in the kitchen of an apartment in Paris, and most of the Bee Gees' biggest disco hits were recorded in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere in the south of France, in an improvised studio). In any case, there was a time limit, and it was that excitement that made it a challenge. I want to live this experience again (I did it twice in the 90s) and I'm curious to see what happens. We've rented a place outside the city, in the middle of a sort of forest, and I'll probably be disconnected from the world until I'm done. We are discussing if there will be an hour in the morning to check the internet, but it's not decided yet. So that's it, I'll give you more details soon.

Good morning dear friends, today, just because it's Thursday, I'm going to share for the first time in many years a part of this photo shoot that is very special to me ☺️
I think I have already mentioned (if not here, it was on Patreon) that I got interested in photography through therapy. It was around 1997 that a psychologist suggested I use photography as a method to learn to love myself and to identify myself with the image I saw in the mirror (something that happens to me all the time, I don't recognize myself in the mirror, I see another person, the difference is that now I like that person haha).
So I started taking pictures, first with rolls of film (you can imagine the situation every time I took them to be developed and I had to pick them up at the developing store...), later around 2005 in digital (that first camera always took blurry pictures), while I kept exploring and learning to like myself. I think it was around 2007 that I discovered the existence of Flickr and created a profile, as it seemed to be a safe environment to share my private photos with some close friends and to me-t other photographers (at that time I was already using photography professionally as part of my commercial work) to show them the work I was doing (advertising, female artists, watches, fashion, objects, etc).
There I met Ivan and Gabo (Argentina) and Gianorso (Italy), among others. Gianorso's work with bears had fascinated me for a decade. His photographs, many of which are now iconic, were psychological studies that went beyond a mere display of bodies.
As time went by, we built up a friendship, I opened up to them, and to my surprise, in 2010, Gianorso offered to take photographs of me. Until then I had participated in photo shoots, but always in relation to my work, as my public "character". I had never done a session as intimate as the one Giani proposed.
So it was November 19th. We met in a hotel in Madrid. I remember it was Friday night, around 7 pm, because I came straight from work (at that time I was out of the music business for a while, taking a break from 2007 to 2012). I took a shower and sat on the bed. I was scared. I was scared that Giani would want to have sex with me, I was scared of a thousand things, and I think you can see that in the pictures. But you can also see other things.
We were alone for a while, taking pictures, until his then-partner came and sat in a corner and watched, and a little later my ex, who joined the session. And Giani was a real gentleman, exquisite.
The photos turned out very nice, but I haven't shared them because I'm afraid Giani will make them public. I know he posted them on Flickr a long time ago, but I would be afraid to see them on Twitter today. I might tell him that I'll share them here and on Patreon these days. We'll see how it goes. But I would really like him to photograph me again. It would be cool to see the difference, don't you think?

Good morning guys, it's #throwbackthursday and I'm finally back home, so that means videos are coming. Let's start with this short one from 2015, I was at a friend's house, the others were out and I started playing, a bit scared that I might get caught... 😜
Happy to inform you that my COVID test came back negative yesterday before traveling. We're being careful anyways and taking tests today again to double check. But I feel almost perfectly fine. So that was quick!

At the moment I am writing these lines I am feeling much better. It seems that this version of the virus has a faster progress so after five days it seems safe to travel.
Today we are finally going home, after 17 days of hard work made more bearable by the presence of a few friends. I don't think I will be returning to Beefdip. I didn't want to share it before out of respect for my husband but I don't think it's an event for me anymore, and this year has only managed to prove it to me. So it's time to look for new paths, say goodbye and make room for good things to come. All's well that ends well.

Well hello guys. I regret to inform you that I got COVID. Not the souvenir I was looking for at Beefdip but it is what it is and I need to take a day or two to recover. It seemed frivolous to me to be posting nudes while being recovering from this, but I didn’t want to just stop posting without an explanation so here I am, at my hotel bed resting and hoping to get better as soon as possible. I started to have flu symptoms last Friday evening after the last party I dj at (a foam pool party) and we took tests last Saturday but they came back negative.
Today, still with a congestion, I got a message from one of the djs telling me she got it so I took a new test and bam, here it is. At least I’m at a nice place, and according to what we’ve learned, flying on Wednesday will not be a risk. So let’s hope for the best. I’ll keep you posted anyway.
You’re the best and I’m thankful for your support and messages every day. Sorry if this last week I was a little absent but Beefdip has been a lot of work and not quite a nice experience for me this year.
COVID just came to put the icing on the cake 😅

Things are still a little hectic at Beefdip but I’m happy because so far it’s been successful and positive. Todays my last dj set, a foam pool party from 11am to 7pm dedicated to Madbear, the gay bear convergence in Madrid (where Jose Dj’d last December in our trip to Madrid).
Cool anecdote: I was the dj of the first one in Madrid back in 1999, my partner back them appointed me without me knowing it and told me just the day before 😅 I played the three parties on that weekend and there were many friends there. They took a few pics during those nights and in one of them I’m with a friend that one or two months later (long time ago) moved to the US. I had seen him maybe twice since then and turns out he’s here and will be at the party on Friday. We plan to take that same pic, me in the booth and he besides me, so when I come back I can post both as a full circle. Ain’t that cool? ☺️

It was July 2021, we were on a short getaway and I felt so good I took this pics (I think for Patreon) but back in the day didn’t have the time to properly edit them, and before I came for Beefdip I took a day to restore them for you.
The event is still hectic for me, today I had 10 minutes for lunch, but I got to finally spend some time showing Vallarta to Dj Tracy You-g, a really cool woman.
